How to Choose a CCTV Installation Company in Toronto

March 18, 2026 · SecXpert Resources

Toronto has no shortage of companies offering camera installation, but commercial buyers have different requirements than a homeowner ordering a doorbell camera. Here's what's worth evaluating.

Commercial Experience, Not Just Residential

A company that primarily installs small residential systems may not be set up for multi-camera commercial deployments involving structured cabling, PoE networking and NVR configuration at scale. Ask specifically about commercial project experience.

Full Scope: Cabling, Networking and Commissioning

Installation isn't just mounting cameras. Look for a company that handles cable pulling, CAT6/PoE network configuration, system testing and commissioning as part of the project — not just hardware supply.

Clear Process and Documentation

A professional installer should be able to walk you through their process — from site assessment through installation, testing and handover — and provide documentation once the project is complete.

Support After Installation

Ask what happens after installation. Does the company offer troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrade support, or do they disappear once the invoice is paid?

Ability to Scale With You

If you operate — or plan to open — more than one location, ask whether the company can support multi-site projects with a consistent approach.

Questions Worth Asking

  • Have you completed commercial installations of a similar size?
  • Do you handle cabling and network configuration, or only camera hardware?
  • What does your process look like from site visit to commissioning?
  • What support is available after installation?
